The odds are the machine will work once you get used to the mask and the air. However, there are a few of us around that the machine was part of a problem. It has been know to induce or increase the central apnea component in some persons sleep architecture. That is what happened to me and it took over two years to figure it out.
Keep trying the mask with a positive attitude and you will probably adjust.
