I know of many poor people who fall through the cracks. For instance, there's one gentleman who lost all his money in the Enron fiasco. He cannot afford his blood pressure medication, even though he's been taking it for years. He is looking for indigent care, but so far no luck. If he lived in Canada, he'd at least get his medicine.
