Although I am an advocate of a real "cure" such as the surgery, I am a realist who knows surgery is not for everyone. If flow generator therapy works and a person is satisfied by remaining hooked up to a large aquarium pump, by all means keep using what is working. Also, realize that everyone heals at a different rate. Some people are still recovering and out of work at 6 weeks. Others, like me went back to work at 10 days. Some get the jaws wired shut for 6 to 8 weeks, other don't get wired or banded at all. I had arch bars and rubber bands that I could take off up to 4 times a day after the first week. I used them for just short of 5 weeks but remained on a soft diet for another couple. I became very good friends with a blender.

I applaud your choice to get of the machine. I hope it works for you as well as it is still working for me. Good luck.
