What I have to say about your comments on private vs public health system is that none of the 2 is perfect. In public health system, you'll be really satisfied if you're not pretty much sick : if you just have simple things as flu. In this case, maybe you'll not be satisfied In USA if you are very poor.

But if you get something really complicated in Canada, don't expect doctors to search more on your case than the usual one, even if it would be necessary, 'cause they don't have any obligation on you : they are paid by the government and not by you. All you can do is to beg them but it doesn't work : they are not sensible to that. At the opposite, if you are in USA and you have enough money, you can go to a good private clinic where doctors will have to get you satisfied for the money they received from you. And, there is also the competition between every clinic that make the doctors to work enough hard to get the more patients ($$) possible. Here, doctors really don't care about that 'cause they all have the same salary.
