The adavacement is nine mm not cm. My bite was very good before the surgery and is still very good although the front teeth are a little tighter side to side. Visually the change was very slight, slightly stonger jaw and profile but nothing drastic. Xray of the profile, the change is very dramatic. The surgeon said the soft tissue sometimes only shows about 1/3 to 1/2 of what actually is going on.

I woke up choking at least once almost every night for years (sometimes 3 to 5 times per night). In the 2 plus years since I had the surgery, I have not had that happen even one time.
