Posted by NocNurse on September 29, 2005 at 22:02:16:Hi,
Had a sleep study and a cpap titration study in 2002 with an RDI of 13.5 At that time, CPAP was recommended with a pressure of 9 cm. Fast forward to 9/2005 and my PCP referred me to an ENT who wants another study. I went last week for a study and the Tech woke me up a minimum of 5 times to place another chin monitor on. Needless to say, I had a very, very difficult time falling back asleep with each interruption. In the AM, she asked me if I grind my teeth and I answered that in all likelihood I do. She said this was the reason she kept changing the chin monitor. Now I have been contacted by the sleep lab who indicate my doctor wants another study because it was of poor quality and I did have some oxygen desaturations noted. I absolutely know I will not be able to sleep. The only way I will make it through the night is with a sleeping pill. Will this skew the results? I already take Klonopin 1 mg. at night. Help! What is the deal with the teeth grinding anyway? Thanks so much!
