You will likely need another sleep test. You can't really move forward without one. But if you have a choice and can go to a different one, that would be good.

If you have to go to the original one, that doesn't mean they can't do a good job. But your PCP and ENT need to specify to the sleep lab that they get the APNEA data, for purposes of titration, and any secondary data is optional only if it does not get in the way of the apnea titration.

Look at it this way - if you hired someone to redo your roof, and at the end of the job they said it wasn't done and they would have to do it over, would you pay them? Of course not. (This is not the greatest analogy, but it makes my point.)

Who knows why this happened. Maybe the tech was poorly trained. Maybe the sleep lab has a policy to collect all data possible. Bottom line, you wasted a night and your insurance paid for it.

I know mistakes happen. My concern is that back in 1999 and 2000 when I had my first and second study, no one I talked to ever had an unclear study (necessitating a second one). These days, it apears more common.
