Could your noise be caused simply by the air from the exhale blowing against your pillowcase, top sheet or something that is giving a bit of a drum-effect? I use a very small pillow, and if I am on my side (usually on stomach) I try not to have any pillow covering extending enough for my ports of my NasalAire II, to blow on it. Same with my top sheet. For me, though hard to believe, that makes a lot of difference.
