Air in the stomach is a common problem for persons new to CPAP therapy. The full name for the condition is called aerophagia. The problem has been discussed many times here on sleepnet. Go back over the old forums and look for subjects called 'bloting' or 'air swallowing', or 'gas'. They are all the same problem. You can also do an internet search on the phrase 'aerophagia CPAP' and you will come up with other links.

The good news is that this problem does get better or go away after a while. But for the difficult cases, there are auto-adjusting CPAP machines that are available that may lower your boyfriend's average pressure and reduce the condition throughout the night. Either time or a higher technology machine will solve this problem.
