An interesting part of your post was that you have moved to a new city and now have the problem.

I live at sea level in Jax Fl and noticed that when I visited Atlanta and had an older model cpap, I had very bad aerophagia.
I do not have it with a newer nodel sith self adjusting altitude compensation.
I wonder if you have an altitude compensating machine and if this is possibly related to the change in altitude.
It also sounds like he needs to be a bit more patient and get up to speed on his condition.
