Discourarged about using cpap

Posted by sleephatesme on October 05, 2005 at 20:39:11:

I have been on my cpap a month now and it seems to be working fairly well. I am 33 years old and I find myself getting depressed about using this thing for probly the rest of my life.I think what about when I go camping.Or sleep over at a friends, just doing the normal things that I used to do. I mean if you have not seen someone in one of these things it looks pretty serious, you look like something from star wars or something. It is a hassle at my age to have to use this thing every night. My doctor has talked to me about this, but I just wanted to get some feedback from other people that have been through the same thing.I am thankful to have some relief now to my sleeping problem but I just do not like the fact that I may have to use this thing the rest of my life. I just don't feel normal anymore. Thanks for listening..
