It's very common, maybe universal, to feel this way. After all, we feel broken somehow.

It's just the same as anyone with a serious condition - cancer, AIDS, congenital deformity, diabetes, etc. All of these let you know you're mortal and pretty darn frail. And it's certainly not fair - you didn't do anything to deserve it.

The thing is, after feeling sorry for ourselves, the only course that makes sense is to look for the way up. I know you're not there yet, but be thankful that you have a condition that IS treatable. It's not like you have to carry around a colostomy bag or go everywhere in a wheelchair.

(And, why is it a hassle at 33 and not at 43 or 53 or 63? I'm not sure what you were trying to say here. It would be easy to take this as an insulting statement - like if you're 43 you have no life anyway.)

I think you need to take a look at your definition of normal. That may be holding you back in many ways in your life.

Practically everyone on this forum has been through exactly what you're describing. It's no picnic, but you ultimately need to move on and resume living.

I'd recommend you read some of the posts in these forums. There are TEN YEARS worth of people posting here. Maybe out of those 1000 people just like you, there is something that you might find to help.
