I don't think you've offended anyone and I didn't feel you were talking down to anyone. This may be the first time in your life you've been hit with something you can't change. I don't think anyone is denying that it can be tough and the resulting depression certainly is understandable. You might benefit from talking with others. Check with your local hospital to see if there are any support groups. There are also A.W.A.K.E. chapters in many cities. Some sleep centers also know of meetings or groups. My best to you in all this . . . .
