Intermittent relapses

Posted by fleener on January 24, 2006 at 13:49:38:

Just a few days ago there was a posting titled "Everything was going great then"....that posed a problem similar to mine. Any valuable insights will be appreciated.

I got my CPAP a year ago this week. My AHI was >90. I've used the gear religiously. In 3/05 I went through a couple weeks of no REM sleep. The pre-CPAP symptoms returned. That passed, but recurred in August-Semptember; After 2-3 weeks the restful sleep returned as quickly and unexpcliably as it disappeared.

I'm now in week 4 of another of these cycles, and what seems like less and less rest every night. Staying awake during the day is a BIG problem again, though 5 weeks ago I felt better than I have in years.

There've been no changes in mask, diet, exercise routine, household chemicals, pets, etc., etc. I tried a modified version of the tennis ball in the pajama waist band with no improvement. Discussed w/the doc who shrugged.

I don't know where to turn next. Any thoughts about remedies will be appreciated.
