I a couple things to consider,

first to the question of a cure, there are a varity of ways of dealing with apnea, some choose surgey, some dental devices and others CPAP or simlar devices. The solution like many medical problems are vaired and personal, we have the same problem but what will work for us is different. In time there will probably be new approaches, maybe better, or at least adding to list of options. I am grateful that CPAP gives me what I need, so that I can live with the problem, and still have a normal life. (life without the CPAP was horrible)

Second to the issue of weight, yes its a factor, but I had apnea before I had the weight. I do agree that it can contribute and make it worse, but the problem is not only weight.
