My mom was diagnosed with PH which the doctor attributed to OSA. He put her on a CPAP machine and prescribed a diuretic to help with edema in her legs. After a several months she began to breathe much better and her condition has improved considerably.

Please don't get discouraged. PH is a very serious disease caused by different factors. This uncertainty wears you down physically and emotionally, making it easy to give up.

My mother was a skeptic and didn't think the CPAP would help her. However, after a few months of using the machine, she began sleeping 6 to 8 hrs straight thru the night (instead of her usual 2-3 hrs)and can breathe much easier now. Also, the heart palpitations she was subject to have diminished considerably.

She is now a convert and won't sleep without her CPAP machine.

Good luck to you and I hope you start feeling better soon.
