AutoPap and Heated Humidifer

Posted by adjusted on February 03, 2006 at 11:42:57:

I just went to my sleep doctor for a follow up summary from my recent re-titration, where he again changed my pressure. I went from 8 to 10, and now since yesterday, up to 12. I asked him about an autopap, and he said it doesn't have a heated humidifier and can't have one hooked up because any water that entered the autopap would ruin the machine. Is this true? If so, how do I keep from having my sinuses so dried out and achy? I know everyone says doctors don't usually recommend autopaps, so I wondered if this is just his excuse for not prescribing it.

What do you think?
