Cpap Machine + Headgear

Posted by IrishT on February 08, 2006 at 14:40:15:

Hi, My complements on your site... It's nice to see somewhere you can talk to other sleep apnea users. I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea six years ago after my wife pointed out to me that I wasn't sleeping properly. My mother also has sleep apnea ( thanks Mam ) . Anyway, I have a cpap machine which I couldn’t sleep without. I use it all night every night and sleep very well with it. My complaint is the head gear. I use the head gear that only covers the nose. The trouble is I have two dints in my skull where the head gear presses against. Anyone else have this problem?. I am not wearing the mask to tight.
My other problem is that I am developing a rash around my nose where the air is constantly flowing. I have started rubbing cream into it. I also feel bloated in the morning and find it hard to lose weight.
I wonder will their ever be a cure for sleep apnea that doesn't involve risky operations ... lets hope so..
