I hate my Auto Pap and my Doc

Posted by Thunder Bay on February 10, 2006 at 14:20:03:

Well, i have been on auto pape for a year, no improvement

I just dont think it responds quickly enough. Are some better than others in this respect? I ha e the RemStar

Or maybe my range isnt set high enough. My pressurre needs are much higher when on my back than on my side, but i can stay asleep longer on my back than on my side, cos it is a more comfortable positon for me

I hatte the way those titration studies just give you an "average" instead of telling you what pressure was best on your side, and what pressure was best on your back

they have my range set at 8 to 15, which i also think may be too wide a range. I'm thinking something like 12 to 18 might be better for me. I cant get my doc to OK changing the pressure without making an appt with him first, and it takes forever to get in.

in early january, i made an appt and the earliest they had was Feb. 16. So I made the appt, and yesterday i get a note in the mail telling me they had to cancel, and to call to re-schedule. Can you imagine? Why wouldnt they just call me instead of sending something throught the byzantine mailroom network of a major urban hospital, and then taking 3 more days to get to me via the mail?

So now I am another month away from getting into see him, maybve six weeks. I am disgusted with the whole apnea "establishment"
