Lungs Feel Raw 6 Weeks In

Hello all, 1st time poster. Diagnosed moderate apnea in Dec., picked up RemStar C-Flex around Jan. 1. Coincidentally, or not, within 3 days developed the worst case of sinus infection/bronchitis that I've had in 10 years. Been symptom free of the cold for a couple of weeks but now suffering from a shortness of breath and my lungs feel "raw", if that makes any sense? Is this normal during a breakin period with a machine. I sound hoarse all the time.
