sore chest / weight

Posted by learningaboutSA on February 22, 2006 at 12:50:47:

I was at the sleep clinic 2 nights ago for my first night on the CPAP. I have very severe sleep apnea.

I was full of energy the day after I experienced the CPAP.
Which was great and I am looking foward to getting my CPAP.

However, (isn't there always a 'however') my chest is sore. It was sore yesterday, and still sore today. Is this normal? Will it pass in time on the CPAP?

My other question is about weight. I have seen two trains of thought. 1. people are saying they GAIN weight when they get on the CPAP.
2. Others say because they have more energy, they are losing weight.

How would a CPAP make someone gain weight?

I sure don't need that to happen! I am dieting and need to lose at least 40 pounds. I have had to lose it for a few years now, but discovering I have severe sleep apnea is pushing me now to actually do something about it!

Thanks for your help - I'm new.
