I had the UPPP surgery because an ENT told me and my wife that a mask was really a bother and my wife wouldn't like sleeping next to Darth Vader (from Starwars movie). I had the surgery and found out the hard way that surgeons like to do surgery. That's what they do. And, I found out after a useless and painful operation that UPPP doesn't work in most cases. That doesn't seem to bother many surgeons. They are happy to keep removing stuff until the patient gets tired of it and gets a cpap. Needless to say, I think you should get a second opinion from a board certified sleep doctor who is NOT an ENT and certainly not someone in the same office as the 1st doctor. Good luck in your efforts to improve your health situation.
