I wasn't 'phobic' at first. It took the course of almost 2 years to evolve, probably because it turned out that the pump was helping to induce central apnea at about the same rate it reduced the obstructive events. Luckily, I had an ENT who performed very extensive diagnosis and determined that the UPPP would be of no benefit. I had a an MMA a few years ago and my obstructive events went from 60/hr to essentially 0. Now if there was a cure for the few remaining centrals, I would be really doing great.

Hang in there, give the cpap a real try then search for alternatives.
