Without knowing the scale used by your humidifier (1-5 or 1-10), it's anyone's guess whether to move it up or down. However, a generally safe rule of thumb is that you should be using at least half, or more, of the water in the chamber every night.
If you have any allergies, it's probably a good idea to check in with your doctor. If you THINK you might have allergies, check with your doctor. Allergies compromise the overall health and vigor of the respiratory tract and sometimes people need to do a little extra tweaking with the CPAP.
Let me hasten to add CPAP does not make existing allergies worse; I'm doing far better now, allergy-wise, on CPAP as long as the humidity is set high enough.
