I strongly second the suggestion to get an autopap. My pressure was set to 16 after one of my titrations. I now have an autopap and it turns out, after monitoring the data, that I need a pressure of 16 only occasionally, which the autopap provides without waking me.

Interestingly, in the 2-1/2 years I've had the auto, my average pressure needs have decreased a couple of points and I'm sleeping well.

As someone else suggested, insist on a heated humidifier.

Yes, sore lungs are common for a few days but if anything is really uncomfortable, check with your doctor.

Depending on how tired you feel now, CPAP has the potential to give you back a life, so I encourage you to stick with working through the initial "obstacles."
