Many report doing everything recommended and still not getting desired results.
I still think this is no reason to discontinue PAP.
If your ahi and 02 levels are better, then it is important to continue and look for other reasons you are still not refreshed.

What is your ahi index with the software?
You are discovering the recommended pressure by the lab and that determined by the machine is often very different.
The encore summary provides a table that shows total time in each pressure range and a highlighted column that shows the pressure needed to control 90 pct of apseas.
Keep in mind the recommended pressure is often much higher than that by the apap. It is often that pressure that is necessary to control 90 pct of the apneas. The higher pressures are often needed only in rem sleep and is a small pct of the total nights pressures.
The suggestion to set it at 14 is about all you can do with plain cpap. Keep in mind that an apap can be set to plain cpap simply by setting the upper and lower numbers the same. That is 12-/12 will give continuous pressure of 12.
