I actually went for my follow-up appointment earlier this week
but due to the fact that I am a single parent I had no other
option than to take my 6 year old daughter with me and, well,
she's 6. It's kind of difficult to have an in-depth conversation
with a physician for an extended period of time with a 6 year old
vying for our attentions, lol. I have been on a cpap with a heated
humidifier at 7 with a ramp of 4 since the night of the study, my
machine was issued the next day, February 7th and I've been
using it ever since. I notice significant relief from the machine
and am adapting rather well in my opinion. I occasionally wake
up in the middle of the night with the mask in my hand and the
machine still running but other than that I haven't really had
much trouble. My doctor decided to up my pressure to 8
because I'm still having times where I wake up and feel like I'm
drowning or like I'm holding my breath and my snoring is still
pretty bothersome. I was able to pick up my own copy of these
results today and was just astounded at what I saw. But it really
didn't make a lot of sense to me so I've been trying to do some
research on it today online. I think I have a pretty good grasp on
the situation but I really just wanted affirmation I suppose from
someone who knows what all these numbers really mean. I have
a follow up appointment in 8 weeks and in the meantime I have
to figure out a way to take my lovely, wonderful new cpap
machine to Bonnaroo! ;-) Wish me luck!
