Posted by D.H. on March 03, 2006 at 17:34:58:Every CPAP users should keep a permenent packing list inside his (or her) CPAP carrying case. The list should be a comrehensive list of everything that belongs in the bag (I.E. everything needed to use the CPAP) when you stay away from home. This will prevent the accidental omission of parts when travelling or going to the hospital. Also, if you take ill suddenly, somebody else may need to pack the bag who might not be familiar with what needs to be in the bag.
I will prevent my list as an example. Here it is:
I) The base unit.
II) The electric cord.
III) The reservoir.
IV) The Filter.
A) Porous Filter.
B) Holding bracket for filter.
V) Elbow connector.
VI) Straight connector.
VII) Mask.
A) Base
1) 360° pivot joint.
2) Grey snap-on connector.
3) Two plastic forehead connectors.
4) Exhaust port cover.
B) Soft triangular face cushion.
C) Hard triangular cushion bracket.
D) Headgear (strap).
E) Molefoam® Padding (whole sheets are best). Alternative: Two pieces of terrycloth.
VIII) Six foot (or ten foot) rubber hose with rubber cuffs.
IX) Extension cords. At least 6’ (1.83 m) with two or three prongs.
X) Funnel (to fill reservoir).
XI) Distilled water. If not available, use any potable water.
XII) Adapters.
XIII) Surge Suppressor.
