I have been using an APAP for about 8 months now, and I have mine set at 12 to 20 cms. I think that you might go through a period where you will tend to swallow air. I had terrible bloating at first. Pardon my frankness, but I would pass gas about 50 times per day!!! Recently, that has gone away. My brain has learned how to breathe with CPAP. It will take time for your brain to adjust, so don't give up. Another thing that I want to tell you is that not everybody gets results right away. I didnt start feeling better until after a few months on CPAP. It took a while for it to kick in. So, my advice to you is to be patient. It may take 8 months or even more before you fully adjust.
