As you’ve already been advised, a certain amount of air should be coming out of the mask to removed exhaled carbon dioxide. Since you’re not experienced, it can be very hard to tell the difference between the normal exhaust, and a leak.
One thing to check is the “oxygen port.” Most masks have a port for patients who receive oxygen. Make sure that these ports are sealed (unless you’re using oxygen, of course).
