Posted by ArtistMonday on March 08, 2006 at 15:48:07:In my study results (posted a few posts back) I noticed that I had 214 hypopneas prior to treatment and only 6 apneas. And none of these occurred during REM because I wasn't getting to REM.
Post treatment it states that I had 9 non-REM apneas and 1 non-REM hypopnea with 8 REM apneas and 0 REM hypopneas.
Why would I have more apneas after treatment than before when my hypopneas have been rendered almost non-existant by the treatment? Should I be concerned about this?
I've been on cpap since the first night at a setting of 7 with a heated humidifier. I really think it's helping but I'm still having some rough nights. Woke up last night on my stomach with the mask in the floor and still running! Put it back on, turned the central unit down and went back to sleep. When I got up this morning my water was completely gone which is unusual because I actually put a little more than normal in the tank and I usually end up having lots leftover. Any thoughts on this development? And any suggestions on how I can keep from removing my mask in my sleep? It doesn't do me much good while it's laying on ground, lol!
