I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea a little over a month ago so I’ve only had one follow up appointment. The next one isn’t scheduled for another 7 weeks. I only asked the question in this forum because I believed it to be a place where I could research and possibly come up with theories and questions to ask my doctor on my next visit.

That said, the doctor put me on a cpap because I had 214 hypopneas in a 90 minute period with 169 arousals and 6 awakening and zero REM sleep.

The AHI for this sleep test, before treatment was 134 and RDI 135.8. I have no idea what either of these numbers mean though.
