Further to my recent message .I searched "apnea mask off " in the search function above and the problem does not appear to be uncommon . Often caused by breathing difficulties eg allergies,
some people found nasal spray helped , others found that with an increase in apneas as they got used to cpap their body tried to clear breathing obstructions during their sleep
and removed the mask - they spoke with their doctors and trialled a small increase in pressure . Hope this is of help .
