No problem whatsoever carrying a CPAP machine on board an airplane post 9/11. Many of us have traveled with our CPAP's and not been challenged or harrassed. Search back on the last few forums and you'll read discussion about that. The security screeners at major airports see these things EVERYDAY and know what they are. A separate issue is the one of being allowed to carry on THREE bags instead of the usual two because the CPAP bag is medical. This is a completely SEPARATE issue of airline policy and not related to security at the gate which is controlled by the TSA in the United States.
