I would think you need to be trying a number of different mask designs to see which one will work best as far as venting goes. Not all masks will vent the same amount (no industry standard) and it appears you are extremely sensitive to the amount that is vented. This is not common, but not unheard of.

I would suggest purchasing a Respironics Contour series mask with a whisper swivel vent valve. These are an older design but still fully approved for use. These masks can be purchased at many internet websites selling CPAP supplies.

I would not ever experiment with blocking any of the vent holes on your own, but it may be useful test in a lab situation where you can be monitored.

I would also think you should be put on one of the new Respironics auto-Bi-PAP machines to see how you do. This is the current state of the art technology in sleep apnea treatment.
