Posted by trying2sleep on March 29, 2006 at 17:23:30:i just starting using a cpap machine with the pressure set at 4. I felt like I was re-breathing old air (CO2). I was more tired after using the machine all night. I ordered a different mask (nasal pillows) and when I read their info it had a warning that with pressures under 6 that you may re-breath old air. Any ideas on what I can do? I spoke with someone who said that that would be true with any mask. In that case, why set the pressure lower than 6 at any time? I haven't been able to get an answer from my sleep doctor without making an appt.
