Surfacants are useless in aerophagia for the simple reason that AIR is the problem, not metabolic gasses.

Surfacants or defrothicants work to lower the surface tension to make big bubbles from little bubbles.
The inspired air is already in big bubbles.
Intuitive yes- effective, no.

Some will say they took mylanta or gas x and felt better. Maybe so, but not because of the meds.
