Honestly, if you even think you might have OSA maybe - get to a sleep center and get tested! Don't trust those at home tests - I passed TWO of them, and delayed my proper treatment for too long!
I completely understand about your insurance plight, as well. Maybe the other members could weight in on this - BUT, aren't there some FREE STUDIES he could join? Usually they're paid for by the CPAP mfgs?

But to sum up, read all you want - just get tested
