When I borrowed the Puritan Bennett Auto CPAP from the doctor to try it out, it didn't have a heated humidifer (or any humidifier), which I was used to. I had terrible nosebleeds and congestion. When I got my ResMed Autopap with humidifer, it all cleared up. I live in the dry San Fernando Valley in California, so maybe that's why a humidifier is necessary for me.
