Having my first sleep test

Hi all, I have been silently lurking in the background for a bit, hope you dont mind. I have my first sleep study scheduled for tomorrow night (my Doc says its a formality for insurance purposes, and also to diagnose exactly what is wrong and the severity although she says she has no doubt I have sleep apnea at least)...So anyway, if they put that little sensor thingy below your nose to test for apneas, what happens if you cant breath through your nose? I have never EVER been able to breath through my nose for any extended period of time without running out of breath. Let alone breathing through it while sleeping...
