Need Advice...Newbie here

Posted by MsBedheadinPA on April 13, 2006 at 06:15:33:

Good Morning.. I have been lurking for just about a week now reading the great posts here on the board. I have been having problems with sleeping for quite a while now due to severe nasal congestion AND a mouth breather. I finally came to my senses and had a sleep study done two weeks ago. Just as I thought, I have sleep apnea.

I was given a F & P Respironics with C-Flex Pro2 and a heat humidifier with a Flexifit Nasal Mask. My machine is set at 9cm. Does anyone else have this machine? I am adjusting to the mask and trying to train myself to breathe through my nose. I finally slept an entire night without ripping my mask off during the night.

My question is how do you know what setting to set the humidifer? It seems like every night is a little different. I do like the humidifer since it does help w/ my sinuses. At first I assumed it would only make my sinuses worse. I was wrong.

Also, if I don't use all of my distilled water in my humidifer at night do I need to dump it out everyday and refill it or could I just keep adding more water?

P.S. What exactly are "Nasal pillows"? Do they help with people who have congestion at night?

Thanks for all help!!

Sweet Dreams,

MsBedheadinPA
