Oxygen?

Posted by Mr Z on May 01, 2006 at 21:49:06:

Hello Everyone!

This is my first post in the forum and an important one for me. I have a bad case of Sleep Apnea and have heard that the addition of oxygen to my CPAP can help. I have an appointment with a doctor who specializes in sleeping disorders this week and want to approach him about the supplementation, but here's the rub. He's already denied my request through my CPAP provider even though my O2 while on CPAP dips below 89% (lowest being 80%). This is based on three sleep studies using a CPAP with CFLEX on a ramp of 4min - 12max. I'm not sure how to approach the doctor about his preliminary decision but I am sick and tired of the morning "hangover" symptoms, not really waking up till ten hours later, short term memory loss.....ect. I'm sure everyone here knows exactly what I'm talking about. Please Help!
