Full Face: open or closed?

Posted by sfsi02 on May 03, 2006 at 13:53:30:

Howdy, I love my nasal mask for my cpap, but recently have had problems with leaking through my mouth. Now, by doctor said I should graduate to the full face setup, I did. I bought a large mask and it leaked a ton, a medium mask, and it leaked less. Now, I can almost be free of leaks, if I open my mouth, in which case my cheeks swell like a puffer fish... but it hurts after a couple of minutes. Am I supposed to leave my mouth open to allow the pressure to fill my cheeks? Is that what ends up happeneing by the time you wake up anyway?

thanks ahead of time for the response!
