Ok, sounds like you're on track to discover what your best setting is, which will fluctuate over time, so it's not an exact science. It depends more on how you feel the next day than anything else. You may find that the S8 will work best with an extremely narrow range in auto mode, maybe only 2 cm between the high and low settings. I don't know what you'll find, but you'll find something. About the central apneas, I believe that the ResMed software can not tell between central and obstructive apneas, at least the older versions can't. You may want to question your DME on his information and readings.
