Yes, sedation is used for colonoscopy, I've never known anyone who had it without. I do know sedation is not used for a sigmoidoscopy.

They suspect apnea just because I've woken up gasping for air several times. My husband says I never snore and, as I mentioned, I am not sleepy during the day. But the nurse at the doc's office said it might still be mild sleep apnea. So I am still supposed to have a sleep study, once the HMO approves it.
