What is the "Arousal Index" ?

Posted by shooter on May 10, 2006 at 17:33:07:

Had a recent sleep study and my RDI and apnea index were both pretty good, but my "arousal index" was not. I am not familiar with the arousal index and couldn't find decent info thru the search function.

1) Can someone provide a basic definition of what the "arousal index" measurement means?

2) What are the causes of an "abnormally high" arousal index?

Thank you!
