If you live in a larger enough city, I would watch your local newspaper in the medical equipment section of the classified ads. You may find someone who has tried CPAP, gave up on it, and wants to sell theirs. But, I would think that you'd be better off buying a new one on the internet as a backup, and not having to worry if the machine you're buying used has odors in it or may be defective in some way.
