Newbie finds answers to pain!

Posted by BackFromTheWalkingDead on May 16, 2006 at 20:14:29:

I was just recently diagnosed with sleep apnea about 4 weeks ago. I had complained to my doctors for years about not having any energy, a dull pain in my chest (that would come and go, for no apparent reason) and a need to yawn all day long, just to get a deep breath into my lungs. To make a long story short.....I am now on a CPAP machine. In only the 4 weeks that I have been on it....the pain in my chest has not come back, thus far and I don't feel the need to yawn all day long as before. As much as I hate wearing the headgear and the rest of the hassle that goes with it.......well, I can honestly say that for me, it has been well worth all of it, just to have an answer to my chest pain and yawning problem. After my sleep study and I was told that I indeed have sleep apnea, I began reading on this sleep site and have found that it really helped me tremendously getting more informed, before my "big day" with my new CPAP machine. I found it comforting to read the articles. I did have quite a few laughs along the way, also, reading about "hoseheads" which some of the articles referred themselves as. Thanks for the site and sharing your ups and downs and triumphs along the road to much needed sleep.
