CPAP Trivia question

Posted by Questforsleep on May 17, 2006 at 10:19:40:

Here is the situation. You are on vacation in a small city. You have severe sleep apnea, and absolutely MUST sleep with the PAP. It is 8 oclock at night, you are in your hotel room, and you merrily unpack you PAP. Much to your dismay, you are shocked to notice that you have left the power cord for your RESMED S-7 unit in the previous hotel which is in another city. Stores will close in on hour. Time is of the essence.

You have three choices:

A. Motor down to any old hardware store and buy any extention cord. You reason that CPAP machines are made so that the parts can be easily replaced in an emergency like this. Surely a regular extention cord will power the machine!

B. You need to get a special cord made by RESMED or your CPAP maker. You figure that only their cord will fit the unit, so you need to spend your time searching for a medical supply store which would carry the special cord.

C. You reason that a CPAP machine is essentially a computer, so your best bet is to hustle down to RadioShack before it closes and get yourself a computer cord.

This is a "choose your own adventure". Let's hear it. (Based on reality by the way).
