Easy one first: If you're going to a Dr for sleep apnea, and he says he doesn't know much about it, the obvious thing to do is to get another Dr. Don't even consider messing around with this issue.

In a nutshell, you have moderate "apnea". Not terrible, but should be treated. It's entirely fixed with CPAP at a reasonalble pressure of 8. Good news.

You might have to give it a few weeks or months to feel much better.

Pressure of 8 should be easy to tolerate. If you can't, or don't want to, there are various options and a non-cpap forum on this site. Even if you choose another option, you still need to go down the cpap path for now.
